AZ Cars is an independent minicab firm based on Merton Road in Wandsworth. We’re licensed by Transport for London as a private hire operator and take pre-booked journeys right across South West London, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Airport and station transfers, local journeys, school runs, business travel and group bookings, all booked in advance and looked after by our own dispatch team.

Our story

Three decades of local private hire

AZ Cars started taking bookings in South West London in 1996, and we still run the business from Wandsworth today.

How people book has changed. As well as calling us, you can now book online or message our team on WhatsApp. The way we work hasn’t: every journey is pre-booked, your fare is confirmed when we accept the booking, and our dispatch team is there day and night if your plans change.

We take people from homes across Putney, Wimbledon, Clapham, Tooting and the rest of South West London to work, school, stations and London’s airports, and on all the local journeys in between.

Licensed private hire

Pre-booked travel with a licensed operator

AZ Cars holds TfL private hire operator licence 10668. Every journey is booked through us in advance and carried out by licensed drivers in licensed vehicles.

    Booked in advance

    Private hire vehicles can’t be hailed in the street. Your journey is confirmed when AZ Cars accepts your booking, not when you receive a quote.

    Licensed, DBS-checked drivers

    Our drivers hold a TfL private hire driver’s licence and have been DBS checked. Every vehicle is a licensed private hire vehicle.

  3. 03

    Check before you get in

    Make sure the driver and vehicle match your booking confirmation. Drivers carry a TfL identity badge, which you can ask to see.

What to expect when you book

Practical details for airport pickups, families, groups and passengers who need a little extra help.

Flight monitoring

For airport pickups we track your flight and adjust your driver’s arrival if it lands early or late, at no extra charge.

Meet & greet at arrivals

Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board. Can’t find them? Call 020 8874 2000 before making other plans.

Fare confirmed when you book

The price, including any fees, is shown before your booking is confirmed. Waiting time, airport parking and changes you ask for can add to it. See our booking terms.

Room for groups & luggage

Saloons, estates, executive cars, MPVs and 7-seaters for up to seven passengers. Check our fleet & luggage guide.

Baby seats

We can supply a baby seat on request, fitted before pickup. Just ask when you book. You’re also welcome to bring your own child seat.

Assistance & accessibility

Assistance dogs travel free, and drivers carry folding wheelchairs and mobility aids at no extra cost. We don’t have wheelchair-accessible vehicles, so please tell us what you need when booking.
